Willis Towers Watson Exec joins IMCA board

The Investment Management Consultants Association - Australia (IMCA) has announced that Paul Newfield has been appointed to its board, effective 28 November 2016.

Newfield is a senior investment consultant with Willis Towers Watson, advising institutional clients on a range of investment issues including; strategic asset allocation, manager structure and selection.

Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson in 2011, Newfield worked for Mercer where he was involved in numerous senior consulting, actuarial and fiduciary roles in Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on Newfield's appointment - as well as the appointments of fellow new board directors, Annika Bradley, Kim Bowater, Hendrie Koster and Keri Pratt - Brett Elvish, chair of IMCA Australia, said: "These appointments are a nod to the past and a nod to the future. We have been careful to ensure we have the right mix of our traditional constituency as well as sufficient skills and experience of where we are headed and what we need to get there."

He added: "We also have been mindful of diversity with the three female appointments to improve the Board's gender diversity and we also are pleased to make an appointment that is based outside of Sydney and Melbourne."

Retiring from the board are Robert Hogg, Graeme Miller, Paul O'Connor, Ian Patrick and Janice Sengupta.
