Global advisory, broking and solutions company, Willis Towers Watson, has announced the appointment of Andrew Boal as regional head of Australasia, based in the firm's Melbourne office, effective immediately.

Boal's appointment follows news of the departure of former regional head of Australasia Tony Barber, who took up the role in February 2016.

Boal has been with the firm for 24 years and previously served as the managing director of Towers Watson in Australia for 12 years, where he was also part of the company's Asia Pacific leadership team and global marketing leadership team. He moves from his most recent position as head of large accounts for Australasia and general manager of corporate risk & broking for Victoria.

Adam Garrard, head of Willis Towers Watson's International business, said: "Andrew is well respected for his strong leadership, client relationships and ability to develop strategic solutions for clients. He brings to the role a high level of expertise in superannuation, employee benefits, HR services and investment, together with a strong knowledge of the company's corporate risk and broking operations, which he has actively developed since the Willis Towers Watson merger occurred in January."
