Willis Re, the reinsurance business of Willis Towers Watson, has appointed Cameron Hick as a director for its Australian business.

Hick will return to Australia after spending the last three years in Zurich as a global accounts executive with Partner Re. He spent 20 years with Munich Re, starting as a cadet in the late 1990s and holding progressively senior roles including as an underwriter and office manager before becoming client manager and head of business planning.

"Cameron's deep reinsurance experience and knowledge of the global markets will add considerably to our core reinsurance structuring and placement capabilities," said Willis Re Australia CEO John Philipsz. "He is well known to our clients and has a strong alignment with our client advocacy model. Cameron brings a highly complementary, solutions-focused expertise to our offering and we are excited to have him on-board."

In his new role, Hick will focus on client advocacy, delivering strategic advice, and providing assistance and insight to Willis Re's clients about their reinsurance purchase. In particular, Willis Re chair Cameron Green says they're excited about Hick's global reputation. "The cornerstone of our ability to provide clients with exceptional advice and execution is the depth of talent within our business. We will continue to add individuals who share our culture and our relentless client-first focus to Willis Re."

Hick will relocate from Switzerland to Australia early next year.
