Westpac names GM, Corporate and Insto Banking

Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) has announced the appointment of Didier Van Not as general manager, corporate and institutional banking (CIB), effective immediately.

Reporting to Westpac Institutional Bank CEO, Lyn Cobley, Van Not has replaced Michael Correa, who was recently appointed as general manager Asia Pacific.

Van Not has been with Westpac for 17 years and, during this time, has held a range of positions in WIB from his most recent role as managing director, head of trade, asset & structured finance, to roles in project and acquisition finance, infrastructure and utilities, and energy and resources.

Commenting on his appointment, Cobley said: "Both Didier and Michael have been with Westpac for many years so this reflects the leadership strength and depth of talent among our own ranks. These appointments follow an extensive external and internal recruitment process. The market for the relatively fewer senior banking roles remains highly competitive so it is great to see the calibre of our internal talent shine through."
