UBS AM nabs BNP sales staffer

UBS Asset Management has brought a BNP Paribas Asset Management executive into the fold to run wholesale client coverage for Australia.

Thira Ngoeun spent five years at BNP Paribas, overseeing key accounts and research before being promoted to head of wholesale distribution for the local business.

Ngoeun brings a wealth of experience in the Australian asset management industry, having previously held similar roles with Nikko AM and Blackrock.

He began his career as an investment analyst at AMP in 2007 also doing a stint as manager of investment sourcing.

"Thira's appointment is a key step in the growth strategy for UBS Asset Management in Australia and New Zealand as we develop our local with global product strategy and strengthen our distribution capabilities in this fast-evolving wealth market," UBS said.

Ngoeun will report locally to Alison Telfer as country head for UBS Asset Management Australia and New Zealand and regionally to Thomas Kaegi, head of wholesale distribution for Asia Pacific.
