Date: September 2017
Position: Managing Director, Asian Business

Tribeca Investment Partners has confirmed that Ben Cleary, co-portfolio manager of the firm's Global Natural Resources Fund, will relocate to Singapore to head up the firm's first offshore office.

From his new location, Cleary, and Sydney-based co-portfolio manager Craig Evans, will continue to co-manage the Fund - an active long/short global strategy investing in listed resources companies in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific.

Cleary has 14 years' experience working in natural resources, having held a number of director level positions for Macquarie, RBC and RBS in Asia, the UK and Australia. He joined Tribeca in February 2015.

A spokesperson for Tribeca confirmed that there will be no operational changes at the Fund level following Cleary's announced move and that the decision to open the offshore office was about improving proximity to key markets.

Evans added: "The opening of the Asian office is a fantastic step forward for the firm and the Natural Resources Fund. As you can imagine, all of our staff do a lot of travel globally visiting companies, particularly through Asia which is a huge component of global commodity demand. The Singapore office will provide an extended platform for us to continue and increase that. Singapore is particularly attractive to us given the number of commodity distributers, traders and companies that have key personnel based there."

An exact date for Cleary's relocation is yet to be announced but the firm expects to open the Singapore office within the next two months, with more appointments to follow.
