Temenos hires MD for Australia

Global banking software company Temenos has announced the appointment of a new managing director.

Michelle Tea comes from a tech background, having spent more than 8 years with tech giant Microsoft, most recently as director of digital strategy. She previously has experience in executive roles at Dimension Data, NetReturn, and JTec.

APAC managing director Martin Frick said that Australia and New Zealand are major growth targets for Temenos, particularly after the recent acquisitions of Avoka and Kony. "In particular the pace of regulatory change has opened up significant opportunities in the retail and SME banking as well as the wealth management space. Financial institutions are seeking more efficient ways to manage clients and reduce operational costs - such as digital channels to enable self-service and automated tools to accelerate onboarding of new clients."

Frick says that Tea's commercial acumen, digital prowess, and leadership experience make her a perfect fit to enable the company to deliver on their growth strategy.
