NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp), the investment management and debt issuance arm of the NSW Government, has announced the appointment of Lucy Thomas as head of investment stewardship, effective March 2018.

In this role, Thomas will report to TCorp's chief investment officer, Stewart Brentnall.

She will join TCorp from Willis Towers Watson, where she is global head of sustainability.

Commenting on her appointment, Brentnall said: "Lucy is a highly respected figure in the Australian and global finance and investment industry - her expertise will be highly valuable as we continue to advise our clients on a variety of Sustainability and ESG investment matters and help them build long-term resilient portfolios."

She succeeds Kylie Willment, who left TCorp to join Mercer last October as CIO, Pacific.

Willis Towers Watson's head of investments, Martin Goss, said that Louise Lew will spearhead sustainable investment activities for their Australian clients. It is currently unknown if they will replace Thomas' role.
