Date: July 2016

Following the announcement of the official transfer of the RBF Tasmanian Accumulation Scheme to Tasplan, which takes effect March 2017, John Mazengarb has been confirmed as one of four new appointees to the Tasplan board, and as chair to the fund's audit, risk and compliance committee. The four new appointees have each resigned from their previous positions on the RBF board.

In other directorship roles, Mazengarb serves as a non-executive director, national councillor and member of the Tasmanian State Council of the Governance Institute of Australia; chair of the Clarence City Council audit committee and an independent member of the TasBuild Limited Investment Committee. He is also chair of the Tasmanian Catholic Education Commission Centralised Long Service Leave Fund investment committee, a non-executive director of Mafematica Pty Ltd, and an executive director of GSD Advisors Pty Ltd.

Commenting on the merger, Tasplan chair, Naomi Edwards said: "The merger will not only make Tasplan more competitive at a national level over the longer term; it will also promote economic growth via new jobs and local investment. An even more secure and sustainable Tasmanian super fund is an extremely positive outcome for members, staff and the broader community."
