Synchron appoints State Manager for NSW

Financial advice dealer group Synchron has announced the appointment of Matthew Wallis as state manager for NSW, effective 1 April 2018.

Wallis will succeed Paul Del Grande who has resigned in order to focus on his financial advice practice, InSync Financial Services. Wallis will work alongside Del Grande until the end of March.

Based in Sydney, Wallis has been a Synchron financial adviser for the past five years and will sell his practice, Straightforward Financial Planning, to take on the state manager role.

He started his career with AON before spending eight years as a business development manager with AIG, AIA and Asteron.

Commenting on his appointment, Synchron director, Don Trapnell, said: "[Matthew] has spent his working life in financial services and has an intimate understanding of advice businesses and the issues facing advisers today, having built his own practice from scratch. We believe he has the energy and commitment to build on Paul's considerable achievements and drive future growth for Synchron in NSW."

Wallis added: "Taking on the role is an awesome challenge. As the state with the largest population of advisers, there is lots of opportunity for NSW to grow. I have big shoes to fill and can't wait to get my teeth into it."
