SuperConcepts CEO to lead AMP's wealth product and platforms

SuperConcepts has announced that chief executive officer Lara Bourguignon has been given extended responsibilities for AMP's wealth product and platforms as managing director, superannuation, retirement and platforms, while retaining her role as SuperConcepts' CEO.

The new role is part of a transformation strategy that "focuses on simplifying and optimising existing platforms and operating models, and growth via strategic relationships and technology-led alternative revenue streams," SuperConcepts said.

SuperConcepts will continue to be run as a separate entity and retain the firm's "agility and entrepreneurial mandate" from parent company AMP.

Bourguignon said that her new role "will expedite new opportunities to better leverage our strengths by collaborating more effectively with AMP to help serve the changing needs of high net wealth clients. After an aggressive acquisition growth strategy, our focus at SuperConcepts turned to migrating our clients to a consistent technology platform and dashboard experience."

She added: "A key part of our transformation strategy is to establish alternative revenue streams from the SuperConcepts Innovation Lab - an internal software development team focused on generating new ideas and technology...We will also be offering an outsourced software development capability to AMP and the wider market."

AMP announced earlier this month that it had combined its banking and Australian wealth management businesses into one organisation to be named AMP Australia. As part of the restructure, Rod Finch, former managing director, wealth products and platforms, has been appointed managing director, AMP Bank.
