Suncorp names new CEO of Insurance

Suncorp has announced that it is streamlining its senior leadership team after combining the group's customer platforms, customer experience and strategic innovation functions into a single function, customer marketplace, with Gary Dransfield stepping into the role of CEO of insurance, effective October 2017.

Dransfield first joined Suncorp in August 2009 as executive general manager for personal insurance retail distribution before being appointed as CEO Vero New Zealand in April 2011, CEO personal insurance in October 2015 and, most recently, as CEO customer platforms in March 2016.

Prior to joining Suncorp, he worked for 25 years in the retail financial services industry holding positions in operations, strategy and marketing at St George Bank, AMP and IAG.

At Suncorp he replaces Anthony Day, who has stepped down following nearly ten years with the group.
