Suncorp appoints CEO of Customer Marketplace

Suncorp has announced that it is streamlining its senior leadership team after combining the group's customer platforms, customer experience and strategic innovation functions into a single function, customer marketplace, with Pip Marlow appointed as CEO, effective immediately.

Marlow first joined Suncorp in March 2017 as CEO - strategic innovation from Microsoft Australia, where she was managing director.

According to a statement from Suncorp, "Marlow has strong international experience and a solid track record of delivering results."

The streamlined leadership approach will also see the appointment of a new CEO insurance, Gary Dransfield, with incumbent, Anthony Day, stepping down after nearly ten years with the group. Mark Reinke will also move from his position as chief customer experience officer to an advisory role.

In other changes, chief financial officer, Steve Johnston, will assume additional responsibilities as legal and company secretariat, and chief legal officer, Kate Olgers, will depart the group.

Commenting on the new approach, Suncorp's CEO and managing director, Michael Cameron, said: "Over the past 12 months, we have embedded a new strategy and operating model. A more streamlined senior team will deliver the strategy more efficiently and effectively. We have brought together our customer-facing and innovation teams to fast track the delivery of our market commitments, and to create more value for our customers."
