State Street VP, former Australia unit head to retire

State Street's department head for regulatory and taxation services, Simon Poulden, has signalled his intention to retire.

Poulden first joined State Street in 2009 as unit head for State Street Australia. He relocated to Hangzhou, China in 2014 as department head for fund accounting. In 2015 he became the department head of regulatory and taxation services.

"After 6 wonderful, exciting and career rewarding years here in Hangzhou, I have decided to leave China and return to Australia", Poulden wrote on his LinkedIn page.

"What we have built here in China, a professional committed workforce, was clearly demonstrated all that is best in employees during the ongoing Coronavirus crisis."

Poulden said he will return to Australia and will not pursue another role.
