The SMSF Association has announced that Andrew Gale is stepping down as chair after completing his two year term.

Gale first joined the board in February 2014 as deputy chair before being appointed chair in February 2016.

He has over 35 years' financial services experience, including roles as executive director of Chase Corporate Advisory, CEO and MD of Count Financial, and managing partner of Deloitte Actuaries & Consultants. He has also held senior executive roles with MLC and AMP.

His successor is Deborah Ralston, who was first appointed to the SMSF Association is board in July 2016.

Gale will remain as a director on the board.
