Jo Saleeba has left FTSE Russell after just four months. She has joined asset manager New Forests' impact and advocacy group as head of sustainability.

She's joined by Lauren Stewart, who has become head of communications.

"We are excited to bring Jo and Lauren on board and form a new business group which reflects the critical importance of sustainability, communications, thought leadership and advocacy to New Forests' investment performance and growth," said New Forests managing director Radha Kuppalli. "Scaling investment in sustainable forestry can mitigate climate change and protect biodiversity, accelerate the transition to a circular bioeconomy, and support rural livelihoods. The Impact & Advocacy Group will work across New Forests to support the achievement of these outcomes as a company and as an industry."

Before her short stint with FTSE Russell, Saleeba spent more than eight years with HESTA as a responsible investment manager. She also spent two years with Thrive Advisory Services as head of ESG and was the CEO of the Investors Group on Climate Change.

In her new role, Saleeba will be responsible for building the profile of the sustainable forestry asset manager. She will develop the company's sustainability and impact framework, focusing on opportunities around natural climate solutions and biodiversity while showing how things like the circular bioeconomy can create value for investors, the environment, and communities.
