Rest, one of Australia's largest profit-to-member superannuation funds, has added another executive to its investment team.

The superannuation fund has confirmed that Peter Carey has started a new position as portfolio manager, strategy and dynamic asset allocation.

A spokesperson said Carey will report to Paul Docherty, Rest's head of research and portfolio construction, who, in turn, reports to Andrew Thomas, who runs investment strategy and asset allocation.

Carey arrives from State Street Global Advisors, where he worked as senior portfolio manager in the investment solutions group for five years.

Incidentally, he started his career at State Street Global Advisors in 2005 as an investment support analyst before being promoted to portfolio manger nine months later.

For three years, he managed indexed equity portfolios across developed and emerging equities over several index providers, including MSCI, FTSE, Dow Jones and S&P.

In 2016, Carey quit State Street Global Advisors  to take up a role as head of equity portfolios at Gulf International Bank in the UK·
He was at the bank for seven years before returning to State Street Global Advisors.
