Rest names head of advice tech

Rest Super has hired Esther Moseley as head of advice technology a role that falls under the purview of chief member officer Deborah Potts.

Moseley joins from Iress where she was client solutions delivery manager.

Before that, she worked at Midwinter - a Bravura company - for around seven years in a similar digital advice role.

The hands-on financial planning industry practitioner was previously business development manager at  Decimal, the could-based platform  and head of practice improvement for Pathway Licensee Services.

Potts said Rest's digital advice has been very effective at expanding the scale and reach the financial advice services the fund provides to members.

In the 2022/23 financial year, Rest Super's use of digital advice tools rose more than 25 per cent on the previous financial year.

Nearly 90 per cent of tthe superannuation und's total advice interactions came through digital tools.

"Our digital tools have also helped us meet a sustained increase in demand for simple advice over the past five years from members who traditionally have not sought financial advice, particularly young people and women," Potts added.

"More than half of our total advice interactions in 2022/23 were with members under 40, and nearly all of them used our digital tools.

"Esther has strong expertise and experience in digital advice and will be a valuable addition to our team as we look to build on the results so far and expand our reach to more members."
