Rest has appointed Steven Ahn as general manager for member insights and strategy, part of its re-designed member engagement team.

The new structure, which includes Catherine Farrugia as digital general manager, follows an increase in member engagement and interest in super, investing, financial advice, and insurance.

"The creation of these new teams will help upkeep improvements in the way we support our members with an exceptional digital experience, that is supported by the practical application of data science and insights," said Tyrone O'Neill, Rest's group executive for member engagement.

"There has been an incredible shift in the way people access advice over the past year. With over one million online interactions since February last year, it is important we acknowledge that digital is the largest and most preferred mode of engagement for our members."

Before joining Rest, Ahn held business operations and strategy roles with Medibank, Telstra, and the NBN. He spent several years with ING Direct Australia as head of PMO and portfolio development.
