Redpoint hires portfolio trader

Nick Ying has joined boutique equity fund manager Redpoint Investment Management as a portfolio trader.

In his new role, Ying will handle equities, FX, and derivatives trading as well as portfolio management, research, and analysis. Ying will report to Redpoint chief investment officer Ganesh Suntharam.

He joins the firm from MLC Asset Management where he spent the last two years as a senior investment analyst providing insights on asset allocation and investment strategy implementation.

Redpoint chief Max Cappetta said Ying's extensive experience in company analysis, portfolio cashflow, and trade management will be an asset to the organisation. "Nick is an experienced and skilled quantitative investment professional with a demonstrated history of success in the investment management industry. He is a welcome addition; the broader Redpoing team will benefit from his insight and expertise."

Before joining MLC, Ying was a portfolio analyst with Dimensional Fund Advisors and a junior trader with Vantage FX.
