Financial writer and editor Julia Newbould has returned to the publishing world after more than 9 years working in the industry at BT.

Newbould was managing editor of industry publication IFA from 2005 - 2010, across several acquisitions, before moving to BT in 2010.

In addition to comms and marketing work, Newbould worked on The Stella Network, a BT initiative to increase diversity in the financial planning industry.

With Rainmaker, Newbould will work across a range of titles but will focus primarily on Money Magazine, which the business acquired from Bauer earlier in 2019.

Commenting on her new role, Newbould said: "I believe passionately in helping those who are keen to help themselves. We're not all born equal and do not have the same opportunities in life, but through education we can make up for some of the initial inequality and this is where I believe magazines like Money can play an important role."

Money magazine editor-in-chief Michelle Baltazar said she is delighted to have Newbould joining the team.

"Her experience, knowledge and passion for empowering investors is perfectly suited to the magazine's mission of helping more Australians become financially savvy," Baltazar said.
