Pinnacle boutique names Macquarie veteran as Managing Director

Firetrail Investments, a newly-launched affiliate boutique fund of Pinnacle Investment Management, has confirmed details of its investment team to Industry Moves.

Firetrail co-founder Patrick Hodgens is the boutique's managing director and he also works as a portfolio manager for the Firetrail Australian High Conviction Fund and the Firetrail Absolute Return Fund.

Hodgens, who has over 33 years' experience investing in equity markets, was previously the head of equities with Macquarie Investment Management, a role that he left in November 2017. He spent 28 years of his career with Macquarie and before that he held roles with Citibank and State Street.

At Firetrial, he works alongside fellow co-founder Blake Henricks, who is the deputy managing director. Henricks and Hodgens have previously worked together for a decade on the Macquarie High Conviction Fund.

Rounding out the Firetrail investment team are analysts Scott Olsson, Ramoun Lazar and Eleanor Swanson, portfolio managers James Miller and Matthew Fist and head of risk and analytics, Justin Gray.
