Pendal executive lands at Jupiter AM

A former Pendal business development manager has taken a senior role at Jupiter Asset Management, the high-conviction active specialist.

David Cottee has been appointed head of client group strategic development at Jupiter after doing a stint at J O Hambro Capital Management in the UK.

Cottee worked at Pendal for almost four years and at BT Financial Group for two years earlier.

Interestingly, Jupiter has popped up recently on the Australian scene.

Andrew Formica stepped down as chief executive of Jupiter to take on a board appointment at Magellan Financial Group, replacing Hamish McLennan, who stepped into a non-executive director role.

He has since moved to executive chairman until former Maple-Brown Abbott chief executive Sophia Rahmani takes the helm.

Also, late last year, Perpetual Limited appointed former Jupiter executive Phil Wagstaff to the board and Aviva Investors - the global asset management business of Aviva plc - hired Jill Barber to run distribution in Australia.

In a career spanning 25 years,  Barber has also held senior roles at Jupiter Asset Management.
