The ACCC has named Paul Franklin as head of their new consumer data rights division.
Franklin was most recently a director for the Australian Payments Network and GM of payments for NAB. Before that, he spent nearly 17 years with CBA leading the team responsible for developing simple and standard payment processes.
The open banking standard is designed to force the big four banks to share consumer data; its implementation has been delayed from February to July. Consumers' mortgage and personal loan data will be able to be shared after 1 November 2020.
