Ian Knox has stepped down as the chair of Paragem.

The move comes following the completion of the acquisition of the business by Easton Wealth on 1 Feb.

"The business was founded in April 2004 with a plan to develop a thriving service that supported the independent advice community," said Knox. "Many advised against the financial obscurity of this challenge but within 12 months Charlie Haynes my superb business partner had joined me to sort things out and the journey toward what is Paragem today had begun in earnest.

"My thanks and appreciation go out to so many supportive people in the wealth sector and all the professional financial advisers and the Paragem staff that shaped and developed Paragem into a sustainable business model that can be carried with pride."

Easton MD and ex-Paragem chief Nathan Jacobson now leads up the combined operations for the ASX-listed company.

Knox has held several executive roles during his time in industry, including head of trusts for the Growth Equities Mutual superannuation offerings, CEO of Lend Lease Investment SErvices, and deputy MD at Westpac. He founded Paragem in 2004 following several years as chief executive for Sealcorp Holdings, the parent company of Asgard Capital Management and Securitor Dealer Group.
