Pacific Current Group names new business development MD

Chris Briggs has left Nikko Asset Management following its acquisition by Yarra earlier this year.

He's landed in the Australian office of global multi-boutique asset manager Pacific Current Group. CEO and CIO Paul Greenwood said, "We are excited to have Chris join Pacific Current Group and continue our distribution and marketing efforts in Australia and New Zealand on behalf of our Portfolio Companies."

Briggs spent more than eight years with Nikko in institutional business development roles. He was previously an associate director with Terrain Capital and worked in asset management across fixed income and equities with Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas in the UK.

"I'm thrilled to be part of the Pacific Current Group team, giving me the opportunity to ensure investors in this region can access the diverse portfolio of exceptional asset managers we invest in," said Briggs.

Briggs will be based out of Pacific Current's Sydney office.

Yarra's Nick Green was named the distribution manager of Nikko's Australian institutional sales following the acquisition.
