After just three short months as head of a newly formed business development team at NGS Super, Jo Klingberg has been appointed chief growth officer.

The chief growth officer is also a newly created role.

In February, Klingberg left the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees to join NGS Super.

Before working for AIST, Klingberg did a one-year stint with CareSuper following her departure from Rest, where she spent nearly four years.

Previous roles include national partnership manager at ME Bank and senior business development roles at Hostplus, AMP Corporate Superannuation, Genesys Wealth Advisers, MyState Financial and ANZ.

"The development of the role is a result of the fund's focus on growth," said an NGS Super spokesperson.

"The chief growth officer will be a key member of the executive team having responsibility for current and new member and employer growth opportunities."

This month, the NGS board will announce the superannuation fund's new chief executive - a replacement for Laura Wright - who last August announced her retirement after 35 years in the superannuation industry and 20 years with the fund.

NGS Super's chief risk and governance officer, Natalie Previtera, was appointed interim chief executive.
