New role for Chi-X Head of Market Operations

Stock exchange provider Chi-X Australia has appointed Peter Warton to the newly-created role of director of technical account management.

Warton, who joined Chi-X Australia in 2011, moves from his current role as head of market operations where he has overseen responsibility for the division for the past five years. He has 30 years' experience in financial markets technology and will now assume responsibility for driving the client service function and technology infrastructure, the firm said.

Warton has held various senior positions globally and prior to joining Chi-X Australia, spent six years working at trading firms IMC and Tibra Capital where he was involved in various market connectivity projects. He has also held senior roles at trading software development firm Actant, LCH, GL Trade and the ASX.

Commenting on his appointment, Chi-X Australia chief executive Vic Jokovic said: "Peter's new role demonstrates Chi-X Australia's ongoing growth and continued commitment to providing service excellence and tech innovation."
