Following the announcement of the official transfer of the RBF Tasmanian Accumulation Scheme to Tasplan, which takes effect March 2017, Rebekah Burton has been confirmed as one of four new appointees to the Tasplan board. The four new appointees have each resigned from their previous positions on the RBF board.

Burton was a director of RBF from March 2015 to July 2016. Previous to that, she was deputy secretary of the Tasmanian Department of Premier and Cabinet with responsibility for telecommunications services and ICT policy across government, Service Tasmania as well as local government and security and emergency management. Commenting on the merger, Tasplan chair, Naomi Edwards said: "The merger will not only make Tasplan more competitive at a national level over the longer term; it will also promote economic growth via new jobs and local investment. An even more secure and sustainable Tasmanian super fund is an extremely positive outcome for members, staff and the broader community."
