New Deputy Chair named at CareSuper

CareSuper has announced the appointment of Julie Bignell as deputy chair of the $14 billion fund, effective 1 April 2018.

Bignell, who has been a member director of the board since April 2013, represents the Australian Services Union (ASU). She is also chair of the fund's governance and remuneration committee, a member of the development and product committee, and the investment committee.

From 2000 to 2015 she was the branch secretary of Central and Southern Queensland ASU, also serving for a period as the national vice president. She served on the North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation board, from 2000 to 2011.

As deputy chair, she replaces Terry Wetherall who has been appointed chair of the fund, replacing Cate Wood.
