New CIO for MIESF

Chris Artis has confirmed to Industry Moves his appointment as chief investment officer (CIO) of the Meat Industry Employees' Superannuation Fund (MIESF), effective May 2017.

Artis was most recently vice president sales & distribution at State Street Global Advisors, a role he was appointed to in January 2015.

Before that, he was head of fixed interest at TelstraSuper and was previously GM of retirement and member services at Vision Super.

Artis succeeds former MIESF CIO, Mary McLaughlin, who left the $750 million industry fund in February 2017 to seek new opportunities within the industry.

Commenting on his new role, Artis said: "I'm really looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting back into asset management."
