New Group CFO named for Commonwealth Bank

Commonwealth Bank Australia (CBA) has announced the promotion of Rob Jesudason to the role of group chief financial officer, effective 1 July 2017.

Jesudason joined CBA in December 2011 as group executive, group strategic development and in November 2014 he was appointed to his current role as group executive for international financial services, based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining CBA, Jesudason worked for Credit Suisse where he was head of global emerging markets. He previously worked at JPMorgan, where he was a managing director in the Asian special situations group and he was also the global head of corporate development at Barclays.

Commenting on Jesudason's promotion, CBA's CEO, Ian Narev, said: "We are pleased to appoint Rob following a global search. Rob has more than 20 years' experience in financial services. He has made a strong contribution over more than five years at CBA, and I look forward to working alongside him in this role."

In his new role as CFO, Jesudason will replace David Craig, who will retire from the bank effective 30 June 2017. A successor to Jesudason as group executive for international financial services will be announced in due course.
