Hostplus has confirmed the appointment of Bev Myers to the $24 billion fund's board, effective 10 February 2017.

Myers joins as an employee representative nominated by United Voice, where she is currently director, corporate and public affairs, a role that she has held since April 2016.

Myers has experience in industrial relations and corporate law Australia-wide. Prior to joining United Voice, she was a director of institutional advancement and general counsel at University of the People and previously worked as a solicitor for Minter Ellison Lawyers.

Myers replaces former board member David McElrea, who is now deputy chief of staff to Tanya Plibersek MP, deputy leader of the opposition.

Hostplus' board of directors are equally represented by employer (nominated by the Australian Hotels Association (AHA)) and employee (nominated by United Voice) organisations. There are also three independent directors jointly selected by the AHA and United Voice.
