National Australia Bank has announced that Rachel Slade will lead the bank's new customer experience division in the role of chief customer experience officer, as part of a restructure of the bank's executive leadership team.
The new division, according to NAB, will replace customer products & services and focus on "building advocacy and loyalty through the design and delivery of a leading banking experience."
Slade has been executive general manager, deposits & transaction services since joining NAB in January 2017 after more than 10 years in senior positions at Westpac. She stepped into the role of acting group executive, customer products & services following the resignation of chief operating officer, Antony Cahill, this month.
Commenting on the restructure - which also sees Mike Baird replace Andrew Hagger as chief customer officer of consumer banking; David Gall appointed as chief customer officer, corporate and institutional banking; and Shaun Dooley appointed as chief risk officer - NAB CEO, Andrew Thorburn, said: "We have a clear plan to transform NAB and create a sustainable business that puts customers first - and we are executing on that plan."
NAB expects the changes to be in place by 1 October 2018, subject to regulatory approval.
