Ahead of its 2021 merger, MTAA Super and Tasplan have announced the appointment of Dr Ross Barry as chief investment officer.
An institutional investing specialist, Barry has spent more than 25 years as a leading proponent of active asset ownership.
Most recently Barry held a senior investment role with First State Super. He's also the author of a 2015 book on investing in a financial crisis, Crisis and Complexity: An inquiry into the nature and causes of economic and financial crisis.
MTAA's current executive manager for investments, Phil Brown, will step down in mid-October.
Tasplan chair Naomi Edwards said, "To date, the merger process has been very smooth, and we want to keep it that way. So, having our C- Suite structure in place early is critical. I'm very excited about the team we have put together and I have no doubt they will help us build a fund that our members can be proud of."
