MLC has announced the appointment of Alicia Gregory as the firm's new head of private equity, replacing Natalie Meyenn.

Gregory has over 17 years' experience in the financial services sector and for the past 11 years has worked within the MLC Private Equity program. In January 2016 she returned to Australia after having spent three years in London as head of Europe, Private Equity MLC.

Commenting on the appointment, MLC chief investment officer Jonathan Armitage said: "We're very pleased to have appointed someone with Alicia's experience in both leading and executing deals in the major private equity markets. The team has an outstanding record of delivering strong returns since the MLC Private Equity program's inception in 1997, and importantly, investors in our multi-asset MLC Inflation Plus and MLC Horizon portfolios have benefitted considerably."

Gregory said: "I'm extremely excited to be leading the team of one of Australia's oldest and most established private equity programs, said Ms Gregory. "I look forward to continuing the great work the team has been doing and pursuing more top-tier opportunities, which have defined the MLC Private Equity program for over 25 years."
