Long-serving Citi trader Craig Meyerowitz has moved to Singapore to join Millennium Investment Management.

After 13 years at Citi,  Meyerowitz was recruited as a rates portfolio manager with the  US$62 billion alternative fund.

firm that focuses on Equities Arbitrage, Fixed Income & Commodities, and Quantitative Strategies.

While Millennium has a few investment professionals in Sydney, it doesn't have any portfolio managers based here.

Meyerowitz will report to Ayan Sen, a Singapore macro trader who recently rejoined Millennium after five years running his family business, Navik Capital.

Millennium has actively beefed its investment team in Asia Pacific making several portfolio management hires in Singapore.

Interest rate-focused investors are typically located in low-tax locations like Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai.

Before his career with Citi, Meyerowitz worked at Optiver US LLC trading options and futures using a market-making strategy.

He also worked briefly as an actuarial analyst at Tillinghast, Westpac and PwC.

Other star traders have relocated to the city-state in the last six months.

Brett Gillespie, a 12-year veteran of Tudor Investment Corporation is returning to the US hedge fund giant after a seven-year break.

Gillespie was rehired from the Commonwealth Bank to take up a portfolio manager role in the fund's Singapore business.
