The Meat Industry Superannuation Fund (MIESF) has appointed former Kinetic Superannuation chief executive Katherine Kaspar as its new chief executive.

She'll take over the role in March of 2021 following the retirement of Bill McRobert.

"Katherine comes to MIESF with considerable experience in superannuation - as a lawyer at Mallesons, non-executive director and CEO of Kinetic Superannuation, senior executive overseeing the merge of Kinetic into Sunsuper, and General Manager at Link," said MIESF chair Chris White. "She is currently studying an executive MBA at Harvard University. Katherine has considerable passion for the role of small, specific-industry funds, and will make an important contribution to MIESF in the future."

Kaspar says she's honoured and excited to be the new MIESF CEO. "I join the fund during a time of great change in the superannuation industry: regulatory change, consolidation and technology advancements, and I believe MIESF is uniquely positioned in this change to capitalise on its core strengths and build on its successes.

"I look forward to working with the MIESF Board, management team and all of our extended partners, employers and industry supporters as we continue our mission to provide optimal member outcomes."
