Midwinter co-founder to lead InvestmentLink following acquisition

Financial planning software provider Midwinter has completed its acquisition of independent datafeed firm InvestmentLink and announced the appointment of Julian Plummer as InvestmentLink's new managing director.

Plummer, Midwinter's co-founder and executive director, recently handed the leadership of Midwinter to recently-appointed chief executive officer Jeff Hall.

Plummer said of the InvestmentLink acquisition: "Midwinter identified that the InvestmentLink datafeed service will be a crucial component of the future advice landscape, given that the impending Open Banking legislation completely ignores superannuation products. Additionally, we have found many of our digital superannuation fund clients prefer not to implement any systems where their members are required to share credentials to banking portals."

Also joining the InvestmentLink leadership team is Midwinter's head of institutional growth Salvador Saiz.

Saiz, who joined Midwinter in October 2016, will maintain key relationships with platforms and datafeed clients in the new role, Midwinter said.
