Michael Wachtel joins Future Fund board

The Future Fund has announced the appointment of Michael Wachtel to its board for a period of five years, effective 3 April 2016.

Wachtel has experience in organisational leadership, finance, risk management and governance, including as a former chair (Oceania) of Ernst & Young, where he was also a member of the EY Global Governance Council.

He is currently a member of the EY Global Risk Executive Committee and also sits on the boards of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and the St Vincent's Medical Research Institute. He joins The Future Fund alongside Erin Flaherty, who was also appointed to the board in April.

Wachtel and Flaherty replace former board members, Carol Austin and Stephen Fitzgerald.
