The Myer Family Investments Group (MFI) has announced the departure of chief executive officer, Peter Hodgson.

Hodgson has lead the MFI group for the past seven years and will retire in September.

Commenting on his departure, MFI chair Martyn Myer said: "Peter led MFI through a very challenging period in the financial markets. He played an integral role in managing MFI's investment portfolio and building a diverse range of operating businesses."

"The MFI board recognises Peter's significant contribution to the Group and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

Hodgson's successor as CEO, effective November 2016, is current McAleese Group chief financial office, John Russell.
