MFI appoints new Chair

Myer Family Investments Pty Ltd (MFI) has announced that Sidney Myer will take over as chair, effective 18 October 2016, following the conclusion of the AGM.

Myer is currently a non-executive director to the MFI board and a businessman and philanthropist with strong associations and ongoing relations in Asia.

He replaces outgoing chair, Martyn Myer, who has held the position since 2011.

Commenting on his appointment, Martyn Myer said: "I am delighted that I will be succeeded by my cousin, Sidney, who has had a long tenure on this board and consequently has all the corporate memory required and considerable experience in the investment markets outside of the MFI Group."

"The changes to the board continue the regeneration of MFI where new leaders will continue the 90-year-old company's growth strategy into the next decade."
