SuperFriend, a not-for-profit mental health foundation focused on creating mentally healthy workplaces to reduce the incidence of suicide and the impact of mental illness, has appointed Megan Bonny as its first independent, non-executive director, effective September 2017.

Bonny joins SuperFriend with more than 20 years' experience in managing communications and stakeholder relations at senior executive levels in the core of government, including in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, The Treasury as well as in ministerial advisory roles.

Commenting on her appointment, SuperFriend chair, Damian Hill, said that Bonny's "extensive political acumen and existing network in Government will be of great value to SuperFriend and its Board."

SuperFriend's CEO, Margo Lydon, added: "In addition to Megan's stakeholder relations expertise, Megan is a change management practitioner with hands-on experience driving organisation change. She has great energy and passion for workplace mental health and, I believe, will be an asset to our organisation and Partners."
