Media Super Deputy CEO departs fund

Media Super has confirmed to Industry Moves the departure of deputy chief executive officer and general manager operations, Michael Rooney, after 16 years with the fund, including five years with its predecessor Print Super.

Commenting on his contribution, Media Super said that Rooney was "instrumental during the merger of JUST and Print Super in 2008", and "helped steer the fund through significant regulatory and internal change." The fund added that Rooney "was a valued part of the leadership team, as well as a committed and trusted colleague."

Rooney told Industry Moves that, after a two week holiday, he'll be looking for his "next opportunity within the industry".

Tony Griffin, former chief operating officer at Local Government Super, has been appointed as Media Super's new chief operating officer, effective April 2019.
