ME Bank has announced changes to its board including the appointment of Jim Evans as the bank's new chair, effective April 2019.

Evans, who has 30 years' experience in banking and financial services, previously worked at Commonwealth Bank for more than 10 years including five years as chief risk officer of wealth management. He has also served as the chair of Suncorp Portfolio Services Limited and as a director of the Australian Infrastructure Fund and Hastings Funds Management. Currently, he serves as chair of Pendal Group and as a director of Investa Wholesale Funds Management Limited and ICPF Holdings Limited.

Evans replaces Ken Hodgson, who retired from the ME board on 1 April 2019 after seven years' service, the last three as chair.

ME Bank has also added two new board directors, Peter Everingham and David Issa, bringing the total number of directors to eight.
