Mainstream Founder to become Non-Executive Chair

Mainstream Group has announced that its co-founder and executive chair, Byram Johnston, will transition to the role of non-executive chair, effective 1 October 2018.

Johnston was the group's CEO for 11 years before departing the role in May 2017. He was succeeded by Martin Smith, CEO of the group's fund administration business, FundBPO. Johnston and Smith co-founded MainstreamBPO in 2006 and remain the group's largest shareholders.

Mainstream Group said that, in addition to his responsibilities as chair, "Johnston intends to remain on the board of a number of Mainstream's wholly owned subsidiaries."
