Magellan picks up former Macquarie institutional business lead

Darren Ottawa has joined global equities firm Magellan as institutional business director. He will be responsible for client relationships in Australia and New Zealand for Magellan Asset Management, as well as Airlie Funds Management, which it acquired in February last year.

Ottawa joins Magellan from Macquarie Group where he was the head of institutional business. Before that he held similar positions with Schroders and Legg Mason.

In addition to holding degrees in economics, Ottawa is a certified investment management analyst.
