LUCRF Super's head of investments, Martin Drew, has announced he will leave the Fund to look after his wife, Kylie, whose medical condition has progressed to a point where she requires full-time care. Kylie suffers from dysautonomia, a condition which causes a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system. Martin's decision to leave the Fund means he will now be able to devote all of his time to Kylie's health and wellbeing.

In a statement from the fund, CEO Charlie Donnelly said "It's sad to see a talented person like Martin leave LUCRF Super, but we whole-heartedly understand his decision. We can rest assured knowing Martin will give his wife all the support she needs at this difficult time."

Martin's last day with the Fund will be 21 August 2015.

Earlier this year, Martin participated in a Q&A with Industry Moves and said the following when asked what charity or cause he supported:

"The cause I support is Dysautonomia. Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several different medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System. The Autonomic Nervous System controls the "automatic" functions of the body that we do not consciously think about, such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, dilation and constriction of the pupils of the eye, kidney function, and temperature control. People living with various forms of Dysautonomia have trouble regulating these systems, which can result in light-headedness, fainting, unstable blood pressure, abnormal heart rates, malnutrition, and in severe cases, death. My wife suffers from Dysautonomia."
