Lonsec Research Pty Ltd - Head of Sustainable Investment Research
APPOINTMENT
LONSEC RESEARCH PTY LTD
Date: March 2019
Position: Head of Sustainable Investment Research

Lonsec has confirmed the appointment of Tony Adams as head of sustainable investment research, effective March 2019.

In this role, Adams is responsible for the responsible investment subsectors across various equity teams as well as broad oversight of the assessment of ethical, ESG and impact capabilities across managers.

He replaces Steve Sweeney, who Lonsec said is taking a break after 13 years in fund research.

Adams has 30 years' experience in global fixed interest markets, most recently as head of global fixed interest and credit at Colonial First State Global Asset Management, where he developed the firm's global credit capability and oversaw the implementation of ESG across portfolios. Previously, he served as a senior portfolio manager at Westpac Investment Management and balance sheet manager at NSW Treasury Corporation.

Also new to the Lonsec team is Hong Hon and Robbie Lew, as senior investment analysts; and Darrell Clark, as sector lead multi-asset, following the internal promotion of Deanne Baker to co-head of research.

They join earlier-recruits Robyn Bayliss, as head of operations, and Nathan Umapathy, as a specialist analyst for the ETF and LIC/LIT sector.

Leaving the team is sector lead for alternatives Sam Morris, who has been replaced internally by James Kirk, and sector lead for global equities Adrian Hoe, who will shortly commence his new role with Frontier.
