Liquidnet appoints Head of Australia

Global institutional trading network, Liquidnet, has announced the promotion of Kate Weidenhofer to head of Australia.

Weidenhofer, who has over 20 years' experience in financial markets, has worked in a variety of roles at Liquidnet for the past ten years, most recently as head of product for Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Liquidnet, she held senior roles at Citigroup and Schroders.

Lee Porter, head of Liquidnet APAC, said of her appointment: "Kate's in-depth industry knowledge and long-standing client relationships means she truly understands what the trader needs - not only today - but well into the future."

He added that she "embodies every aspect of Liquidnet's values" and that he is "looking forward to her leading the Australian business."

Weidenhofer succeeds Murrough O'Brien, who departed Liquidnet in April 2018 for the newly-created role of director of institutional sales at Chi-X Australia.
